Demonstrations are underway in various parts of the valley on Wednesday against the killing of Nirmal Pant and Pushkar Dangol, residents of Syuchatar VDC-2 of Kathmandu. Two youths of Kathmandu abducted by the Young Communist League cadres a month ago. They were abducted and reportedly murdered by the cadres of Young Communist League (YCL).

Protesting the incident, the agitators vandalized and burnt the materials of the office of the YCL at Kalanki this morning. The demonstrators chanted slogans against the YCL and demanded resignation from the Home Minister for failing to provide peace and security in the country.

They vandalized more than dozens of vehicles and obstructed the transportation at various parts of the capital including Kalanki, Chabahil, Nayabazar, Lainchour including others.

Pant and Dangol were abducted by more then 300 YCL cadres in a visit to Gorkha on October 19. Their dead bodies were recovered from the banks of Dariyal stream at Jarebagaicha in Pida VDC-3 in Dhading on Tuesday in an attempt of search carried out by the human rights activists, police officers and relatives.

According to Madhu Shrestha of Kalanki, Kathmandu, who had managed to escape in the incident, the group of YCL cadres led by Akash Basnet of Kirtipur and another “Sujan” of Thankot had disappeared the two following the abduction. Shrestha was also injured in the attack.

The dead bodies were found buried on the Bhorlefant bank of Dhading’s Dariyal river today. Their bodies were recovered from the bank near Jarebagaicha in Dhading district’s Pida VDC-3, said district police office.

The duo were abducted from a hotel at Malekhu while they were having food on October 20 when they were returning to Kathmandu from Gorkha. The YCL cadres led by Sujan of Thankot and Akash Basnet of Kirtipur were involved in the abduction.

The locals informed the police after they saw the stinking decomposed bodies on the bank. A team of the police and human rights activists took the decomposed bodies in its possession. There is no clear light on the murders of duo so far.
