End of monarchy and election of constituent assembly has installed a new government in Nepal, led by the chairman of CPN Maoist and prime minister Pushpa kamal Dahal Prachanda, who is also the highlighted person around the globe in these days. People have expected the Nepal to be the peaceful, multiparty democratic and prosperous country by the leading leaders and political parties, writing new inclusive democratic constitution and also it’s implementation.

People have also expected Nepal to be the renowned country in the world not from backwardness but from front line. People also vote the CPN Maoist in the constituent assembly expecting many changes because of the anxious works of the older parties and the lascivious works of them. Today the new Nepal is being led by unified CPN Maoist in coalition with CPN UML, Madhesi Jana Adikar forum and other fringe parties where as Nepali congress and before few day Tarai Madhesh Democratic party also take out its hand from Maoist led government and has remained in the opposition.

Today just opposite of expectation people are frustrated. Maoist had entered into the government assuring that the party would follow the principles of democratic republic and also the policy and law of press freedom. Still there remains the deadly environment for the journalist around the country because of activities like terror, abduction, intimidation, murder and so on. Journalists today are facing such problems that there is not amicable situation to say I am a journalist because he may be kidnapped, threaten at anytime. How can a country be peaceful without press freedom, freedom of speech and information?

Many journalists are killed, kidnapped, threatened and disappeared from both the government and Maoist in the war period. After the establishment of peace in the country, still we can find and hear many case of murder, intimidation and so on. Just before some day’s Janakpur based women journalist Uma singh was murdered in her abode by an unidentified group. But still the murderers are not punished by the government.

Another most surprising thing is that Maoist says that their party is always in favor of press freedom but the cadres are always prone to murder of the civilians, journalist and respectively others. Provision of press freedom was insert in the constitution written in 2004 also but the matter is that how much it had been implemented. Before some days our parliament also approved parliament proposal of press freedom presented by Ramesh Lekhak the leader and Constituent Assembly member, bit it is not new in Nepalese context. There is no meaning to approve such proposals In favor of press freedom it they are approved only for show not for practice.

People today have been facing the problems of load shedding, garbage and political instability. Instability has brought terror in the society. Very slow pace of industrial growth and close of industries, strike in industries by the unionist workers have brought unemployment and this serious unemployment situation has led to social imbalances and disturbances slowly engulfing the nation as a whole.

Increase in number of private banks, finances, companies and cooperatives, airlines, insurance companies, housing and leasing companies etc. are the outcome of the liberal policies of the multiparty democratic government. These changes are definitely positive but today all these sector are in horror due to instability, anarchy etc in the country.

Political leaders today seem busy in giving philosophical speeches rather than taking actions in solving the problem in the country. It is truth that to become father is more difficult than to say father. To met the demand and take the country toward peace and development is the responsibility of Maoist in present situation rather saying we are now surrounded by different elements and if our government is made failed we will capture the power within some minutes.

People had given vote to CPN Maoist to check it’s capacity in making country prosperous. But Maoist had felled into the ditch of the way as like of the older rulers. Nepalese economy status is decreasing day by day.

We can also view the government activity from the activity of their wing parties or cadres who are dedicated in clashes in various parts of the country and terrorizing the civilians. It seems as if the ruling government has taken the power as dramatic play in the theatre. The need of the time is to rise above petty politics to lead the nation to prosperity by developing national strategies for faster economic growth and national development but the political leaders are busy in debating each other activities.

Political leaders should realize that to win people’s confirmation they should work all the time for the welfare of the people not for their own welfare. Leader’s mission should be development, not the mission of commission. All the responsible members and leaders seems busy in inauguration program. It seems there is no any benefit from inauguration. All political parties do have so attractive principles in their manifesto but not implemented in practice. Politics is done in every sector. Any sector is not free from politics.

Politicians have made politics a dirty game. The situation of the country is critical. Crisis, crime, murder intimidation are prevailing in every part of country. If these activities are not stopped currently it is useless to think that the new democratic constitution will be written in time and Nepalese will feel the environment of peace and security.

So political leaders should work in the welfare of the country and people and also know that too much breaks the bag. They should go to the public, not ask them to come to them. The trend of criticizing other for only purpose of criticizing should get end and each leader should realize their own mistakes and foibles, improve these foibles and work in consensus, coalition, cooperation and coordination in amicable environment.
